A Japanese dude is playing God mode in double play:

http://moemoebob.blog98.fc2.com/

His best so far is up to the ST5 boss with 3.4bil on the 1P side (reco) and 3.5bil on the 2p side (Palm). Impressive stuff!
That page even includes pics of his various hand placements.

Random painfully off topic question: Does Sin have any section on his page about what he uses for vid capture?

From tv I used a dvd record to catch vid from a supergun and it works very weel...
From Egret or other cab you can capture vid using a dvd-rec but you have to buy this specific converter

http://www.micomsoft.co.jp/img/xav-2s_z02.jpg

This some page that explain how to capture vid from a jamma system and the correct way to connect the jamma converter...

I used it from a egret2 and it works good

Before this goes completely off the rails: I was specifically asking if SIN mentions what he uses; I don't need a general 'here's how you capture from jamma' type response. I've already got that stuff well in hand.

Another Maniac mode run on Nicovideo! This time it's a 1.07bil run with Reco.:righton:

ST1:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2999857

ST2:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm2999956

Ends with ~380mil

ST3:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3000051

Ends with ~630mil

ST4:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3000126

Ends with ~775mil

ST5:
http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm3000237

Really, really impressive run. Some really great scoring tricks in there I've never seen before (like on the last phase of the ST3 boss - brilliant!)

could you please tell me how yours are connected (maybe take a closeup picture of them), and what cables you used?

It should be noted many prefer the original 1.5 boss fights to BL's "accelerated" fights.
Mmmm indeed. I just took a look at an original mode run for BL and thought that the speed increase looks like it's definately not for me. I mean it looks great still but I was considering selling 1.5 to get BL before I saw this which is not happening now.

Of course I'm deciding based on a video  so how do the rest of you who have actually PLAYED both versions feel about the two now that you've had a while to aclimatise to them?

After playing both for a long time here are my thoughts.

Original mode:
Black Label is probably better here for scoring in the long run, due to the addition of the gem leaching feature. However, you have to really like (and be good at dodging) ridiculously fast bullets. Personally, I prefer ver 1.5's original mode right now.

Maniac mode:
Both are great, and I think they are the best modes on each PCB, but ver 1.5's maniac is the better game.

Ultra/God modes:
This is tough. I think Ultra is more thrilling to score and advance in, but its difficulty is a bit too obscene, thus fewer people will really enjoy playing it (and probably no one will 1CC it). God mode feels like Maniac mode with more bullets, a bigger fancier multiplier, and more slowdown, and it's not terribly difficult to 1CC (it's only slightly harder than ver 1.5's maniac mode). The perfect mode would have been Ultra with the shot power of the characters in Black Label.

Overall, if you can only buy one, I'd say get ver 1.5. If you really like ver 1.5, then you should get Black Label as well. However, if you just want a lower 1CC difficulty in all 3 modes, then you'll like Black Label better, and should go for that one.

It would be good to get some opinions from others who have played both games. :)

I still hate Maniac in Black Label (I need to watch the SIN videos, I admit) and really haven't given Original a fair chance, but I like God Mode heaps more than Maniac 1.5 (the only real mode I play).  In fact, I bought 1.5 recently and just couldn't get into it.  Maybe again one day, but for now, I'll let it go.

I'm always confused at the different versions of Mushi Futari. So is there the original run of Futari, Futari 1.5, and Black Label?

So it was the same like DDP Campaign Version?

What's been changed in this one, then?

yeah, ISO and ABI (futari black label WR) have one, as well as someone else i'm forgetting.
basically, i think it had a ketsui-type addition to the scoring system, so you wanted to be in close proximity to the enemies.

Oddly enough, none of the 3 PCBs have popped up anywhere around town.  The only tweaks were to Original mode, which is worth noting.  The scores (in Original) were 600+ million if memory serves.

Cave should just go to ver. 2.0 and include elements from 1.5 AND BL.

Just a thought.

the only thing im missing from BL is Ultra.. i find its better in all the other departments and God mode is very much playable even for us noobs. (ive had both versions aswell)

Ultra is the most ridiculous shit ive ever played, good fun tho in a masochistic ballbusting way...

my problem with ultra is there isn't enough slowdown on stage 1.  credit-feeding through it, stage 2 feels easier to me than stage 1 :/

One thing I really hate about God mode is the super jerky slowdown (slows down really bad then randomly speeds up super fast again), it's really worse than PS2 Mushi in some parts. It makes the game feel really choppy, and leads to a lot of cheap deaths. Another annoying part of the game is when you trigger a large multiplier and the on screen display AND your character sprite totally disappear for a second or two. I don't mind the OSD, but not being able to see my sprite really sucks and can once again lead to cheap deaths.

Overall Black Label is a much faster-paced game than 1.5. The characters move faster, the boss fights are sped up, and the game is really designed around the idea of getting as close to enemies as possible in all 3 modes, for maximum score. You're also really penalized for bombing (both in the stages and for your end bonus), so if you like to bomb, BL probably isn't for you.

YOu need to time it out so you're holding your laser through the jerky parts.  Stupid, but it smooths them out, and becomes part of the strategy.

Yeah, I know. But if I want to switch to the shot to suck in some gems, or let go of the laser or shot to wait for a pattern to end (or get more bullets on the screen), the speed is all fucked up. So it's troublesome when you're going for score. Truth be told the same problem is in BL's Original mode when you have the rank jacked up. It pops up a few times on some boss fights in Maniac mode, but it's not too bad there.

That is the main reason why I stopped with the God mode.  Its still fun, but I didn't have enough patience to stick it out.
